FLEXO GUARD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
|
CLASP INSTALLATION
- 2 clasps are required per section, one on each side.
Place all Flexo Guard sections on guard points for reference. Space
clasps accordingly. Remove guard point nut and place clasp in
direction show per Figure A. Secure using the same nut
removed. Besure nuts are
drawn tight! Clasp should be left in place from

CLIP INSTALLATION
- From below, place both ends over adjacent Flexo Guard fingers
centering the clip in front of the clasp previously nstalled. Using
a screwdriver, force the center of the clip toward the clasp using the
guard point nut as leverage. SeeFigure C for visual
reference. A hammer may be needed to tap the clip down
the shank of the

TINE WIRE INSTALLATION - With the Flexo Guard sections mounted firmly in place, compress the ends of the tine wires together and thread in to tine clip holes. Take care not to cross tine wire ends or damage may occur! Push the tine wire through the tine clip as far as possible using hand pressure. When you have completed a section, use a block of wood and a hammer to tap them to their fully seated position as shown in Figure B. This will also seat each section properly to better facilitate clip instalation. If you are using bolt-on sickle sections you must put ABM Grain Saver Boots on either side of the sicke hold down to prevent tine wire damage. (Hint: If you are using a bolt-on sickle section and do not have ABM Grain Boot Savers installed, bend the end of the tine wire down 45 degrees 3" inches from the end. Do this on tine wires located on either side of sickle hold down. This will detour the sickle bolts from grabing the tine wire but will not prevent it.)

REEL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS - The center line of your reel needs to be set 5" to 6" inches from the back of the Grain Saver Boot Attachment to allow proper feed action. Also, it is recomended to leave the bat clearance between 2" to 3" inches from the top of the Grain Saver Boot Attachment. See Figure D for visual reference.
|
| ABM GRAIN SAVER BOOTS - The Grain Saver Boots are mad of UV
Stabilized High Density Polyethylene material that is weather resistant,
long wearing, and resists breakage in cold weather. When first
recieved, the Grain Saver Boots will be somewhat stiff. To improve
hinging action before the first field run, compress the sides together a
few times by hand. This will greatly improve flexibility for better
initial stock feed to sickle and platform. For installation instructions see ABM Grain Saver Installation Section. For configuration instructions see Flexo Guard Configuration Instructions Section. |
